Gaming rules & regulations

The Freelancer’s Café Official Rules & Regulations aim to ensure the integrity of the competitive play of our closed and open tournaments to promote vigorous competition and to help ensure that we provide a safe environment for our community. 

• Players are allowed to bring their own equipment in tournaments and general play. (controllers, micro usb/usb-c cables, headphones, etc)

• Be respectful of the equipment. No throwing, smashing or hitting of the keyboards, mice, screens, computers, headsets, or any other Freelancer's Café property. If there is a problem with a piece of equipment, please ask for assistance.  You may be charged for any devices purposely damaged. 

• Xbox controllers will be available. All other controllers will need to be brought by the player.

• Wireless controllers are prohibited. Players must use a wired controller to compete and play.

• The computer will give you auditory warnings when your time is almost up. When your time is up, the computer will lock itself. Make sure to add more time or finish playing before that happens.

• Using any kind of device that has hacking, modifying behavior, cheating and/or programs that bugs and glitches the client to gain advantage are prohibited. 

• Players are not allowed to be intoxicated under influence of alcohol and/or drugs during their playtime of the tournament. Players who appear intoxicated and/or under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs during the tournament will be disqualified and asked to leave the event.

• Players that are younger than 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of general play and tournaments.

• Disrespect and Raging will not be tolerated.

• Please make sure you clean up after yourself and clean your hands before using the computer. You are not allowed to have any drinks or beverages near the PCs. Please throw away any trash!

• Do not use any of our machines for engagement of illegal or questionable activity of any kind. This includes any illegal trading of pirated songs, movies, or online gambling. Pornography is strictly forbidden at Freelancer's Café. This is a safe environment and any such activity will result in an immediate termination of game play and asked to leave to premises with no refunds. We have security set up, purposely bypassing these securities will result in an immediate permanent ban.

Failure to follow the rules may lead to removal from the venue and permanent ban. 

All sales are final, and Freelancers Café does not offer any money-back guarantees. You recognize and agree that you shall not be entitled to a refund for any purchase under any circumstances.

You do need an account under our software to purchase the hourly rates and packages, and you do need an account to play the games on the PCs under the following launchers: Epic Games, Riot Games, Battle Launcher, and Steam. If you do not have an account under those launchers, you must make one in order to play. 

Filming may occur for promotional purposes. By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you are consenting to be filmed for promotional purposes.

By agreeing to the terms and conditions, you are acknowledging that there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present. By attending this event, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and agree not to hold Freelancer's Café, sponsoring vendors, venue locations, or any of their affiliates, employees, tournament staff or volunteers liable for any illness or injury
